The Foundation focuses on two areas of action: In rural areas, Pro Habitat works with goverment and international cooperation funding to implement Chagas Control Projects in the endemic areas of Tarija, Chuquisaca and Potosi. It also works in the construction of healthy dwellings in Chaco and Pando and provides training and assistance for practitioner NGOs.

At an urban level, Pro-Habitat works in the cities of Tarija and Cochabamba with a programme that offers individual micro-credit and community loans to improve housing and basic services. It also works to strengthen grassroots organisations to increase their capacity to influence in public policy and exercise their citizens' rights so that the inhabitants of marginal areas have access to adequate housing and participate in the construction of a more inclusive, solidary, sustainable city.
