Is there any easy way of getting from Cochabamba to Salarying De Uyuni? Has anyone done the 3 day tour with starting point in Cochabamba? This is my first time returning home after my parents moved me away when I was 4 years old so I am thrilled to see my country at last! Any and all advice is appreciated.

Just back from Bolivia and have a couple of recommendations in Sucre not in the latest LP guide.

  1. Stayed at Spanish Friends hostal. B$85 for a large well lit double room with a bathroom next door. The staff were excellent speaking both English and Spanish and also got up early to serve us breakfast when we had a flight. Easily the best value out of the 13 places we stayed in Bolivia. It is located on Calle Padilla between Grau and Dalence

We also ate...

we're planning with a friend a tour to Salar de Uyuni and South Lipez on the 22nd or 23rd of october 2019. We got a nice plan for a private tour from Uyuni, that was recommended by a friend organising vip tours in Bolivia for years. The price is over our reach for a private tour for 880 USD (for the whole 4WD, from 1 to 4 people max, we're two of us, so it exceeds our budget for this, but 220 per pax if you come and join us, would fit in our budget). We...

Hello travellers, in particular travellers with children,

We will be in La Paz in a couple of days and wondering if anyone could suggest hostels suitable for a family (our children are 9 and 13) - economical, safe area and, ideally, with a communal area to relax.

Many thanks in advance.

Can anyone out there recommend a men's large size jacket or parka that will be good for an ascent of Nevado Sajama? The summit is above 21,000 feet and i'm hearing it is mighty cold!

Hello travellers,
2 points -

1) if you are in Potosi or are planning to go, reconsider your plans! The locals advised us this morning that it is likely that from Wednesday 9th October, city-wide protests and blockade will bring the city to a standstill, ie no one can enter or leave, UNTIL THE DAY OF THE ELECTIONS on 20th October. Plans are to be confirmed tomorrow.

2) We were planning to stay in Potosi for a few days as we love it but we now want to leave tomorrow....

Hello travellers,

My family and I (4)I are currently in Salta, North Argentina.
We are trying to plan ahead.... Our final flight is from Lima, in mid-December.

As costs are higher in Chile and everything needs to be multiplied by 4, we are hesitating into travelling to San Pedro before heading to Bolivia or going directly north into Bolivia from Salta.
Should san Pedro and the Atacama not be missed? Can similar landscapes be explored in Bolivia at lower costs?...

Hi, was wondering whether anyone has done this trip? The company says the guides only speak Spanish. Me and mt girlfriend speak minimal Spanish. We're wondering whether it would still be worthwhile doing the trip. I'm guessing there would be other on the raft who would have the language problems! Any experiences would be awesome. As it seems like a really good adventure!

How did you get to La paz? From Mexico City or Miami, or Los Angeles?
Fly to Peru and go over land? Seems like a person should visit Bolivia in their life.
This is my very first paragraph as to figure out how to get there.

If you know anything about a visa for a gringo or some other very basic information, please feel free to pipe in.
I just read a post about inspection of yellow fever card, is that true? I had one many years ago, and have no card to prove it. Not...

Today I entered Bolivia from Argentina via La Quiaca- Villazon border post. On the argentinian side I get a printed paper stated the exit date and the bolivian side I was told this paper the entry stamp for Bolivia and they do not stamp in the passport anymore. Is this the situation? According to this paper I can stay in Bolivia only 30 days but I will stay for 34 days. What can I do? Renew the stamp? or overstay?

I am planning a trip to the south. I have a American Passport and a Pakistani Passport. I am using my Pakistani passport to enter and exit Bolivia since i have a valid visa on it. I want to use my American passport to enter chile. Will border people at chile ask me for exit stamp from Bolivia?
Can i use my American passport at the border crossing?
i heard bolivia and peru demand same passport to be used when entering and exiting their country. What about chile?

I'm a solo traveller currently in Santa Cruz, did some research on the Amboro National Park and am absolutely dying to go! Problem is there is a minimum of two people (2-4) to organise the tour. (Also toying with the Sand dunes but same issue).

Anyone around the Santa Cruz area who would be willing to join up or let me join their group to make it cheaper? I was looking to use nicks adventures for tomorrow 2nd September or day after 3rd September (link below).
