Mataracu Tent Camp, Amboro N.P., Bolivia

Mataracú Tent Camp is an idyllic eco resort located within Amboro National Park. Equipped with cabin-like tents specially designed for comfort whilst camping in the tropics, the Tent Camp has been adapted to the topography of the area, leaving intact the original trees and its pristine rivers.

By using environmentally safe methods it offers guests the opportunity to be in direct touch with nature without the need to sacrifice comfort.

Each tent is furnished with five beds, a desk, wardrobe, large private bathroom and a verandah from which you can enjoy the birdsong and spectacular views of the nearby forest, parks and streams. Mesh windows and doors, as well as the natural design of the tent, ensure excellent natural ventilation of the interior and the terrace. Each tent is also equipped with insect repellant illumination lamps generated by the use of solar and water energy.

There is also a fully equipped camping site with communal bathrooms as well as a rather precarious treehouse and a newly built double cabin.

They have a cabin specially designed to host parties and events, as well as a bar and restaurant that serves both local and international cuisine. There is a sauna and natural swimming pool at the tent camp site where guests can enjoy relaxing in the fresh, crystal clear water.

A short circular walking trail near the camp is available as are hikes into Amboro National Park with experienced local guides. Strategically located as a point of departure for multiple expeditions, the Tent Camp allows you to explore the deepest areas of the always green, diverse and enigmatic jungle of Amboró. In particular, visit the "Cajones del Yapacaní", to enjoy the freshwater and white beaches of this river, which is one of the southernmost tributaries of the famous Amazon river.

Other activities on offer include horse riding, swimming in natural ponds, canoeing, fishing and fauna and flora observation walks.
