Iglesia San Martin, Potosi

- Sights of the city
This unpresupposing church hides, within its walls, one of the most fabulous collections of art in Potosi. It is a short, but very uphill, walk from the centre of the city. However, the monolithic golden altar is worth the trip, and would be even without the church's other treasures.
The walls above the pews are lined with framed works of baroque and rennaisance art. Throughout the body of the building, statues and carvings add to the astounding beauty of one of Potosi's hidden gems.
To enter the church, ask at the offices to the left for it to be unlocked. Don't be offended if you're accompanied in and take advantage of the fact the staff are incredibly knowledgable about the artworks.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday: 15:00 - 18:30
