Hi
Looking for advice or anyone else in the same position. Mayor of Sucre today announced a 2 week quarantine - not able to find specific details and local insure of the meaning of this. We need to try and get back to UK. Has anyone been able to travel out of Sucre by bus or plane? Has anyone been successful in getting international flights out of Bolivia?
Thank you

Hey! I just arrived in La Paz & am somewhat overwhelmed by the number of tour companies!
I want to see the salt flats ( obviously! ) and laguna verde & laguna Colorada amongst other things.
So far I've been quoted around £120 for a 3 day tour including these 3 and many other places such as train cemetary and hot springs... I guess my main question is do you thing 3 days is too rushed for all these things? Would I be better trying to reach places independently?

hi - looking for some advice. We will be traveling from Canada to Argentina and Bolivia in June with our 13 year old twin girls. B/c of flight costs, we decided to land in Buenos Aires and then travel north - flying first to Salta for a few days and then making our way towards Sucre for a month. We wanted to go to the Uyuni Salt flats - but wondering if in mid/late June it will be too cold for that trip. It of course looks amazing, but it worthwhile given the time of the year? Anyone have...

I have found the shortest flight (under $500) from Iguazu Falls (Brazil) to Cusco with stopover at Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
This is only a 6h 40m flight (3 h layover in Santa Cruz) with a small Bolivian airline "Amaszonas".
I was wondering if anybody took this flight, and if it's a reliable airline (was late or cancelled etc...)
Thank you for any feedback.

In April, we are flying from Iguazu Falls to Cusco via Santa Cruz (Bolivia). We just have to change planes at Santa Cruz but not going anywhere in Bolivia.
I was wondering if they are going to ask us for Yellow Fever Certification. Presently, it's not available in Canada and we do not need it in Peru (or Iguazu).
Thank you for any feedback

Hi everyone!
I've never been to South America and i was considering traveling there for the summer.
I don't know which country to visit yet, but i'd like to go to Bolivia, especially because of the Uyuni salt flat. Would you recommend it even if i'll be there in summer (so without the amazing mirror effect) or it's better to visit Uyuni in another season? Is the Salar de Uyuni without the mirror effect still worth it?
Thank you!

Hi all! I have read that the visa requirement has been lifted for US citizens in Bolivia, but info about number of days granted is dicey at best. Does anyone know if border agents will grant more than 30 days on arrival now without the visa requirement? Or is 30 days, with an extension in a government office, the only way to stay for longer than 30?
Thank you!

Hi,
We will be in Bolivia in the middle of March. I was thinking of getting a tour organised from La Paz via Sajama to Uyuni with dropoff in San Pedro de Atacama.

I have seen some agencies organising them - usually it takes 5 or 6 days total.
The question is, does it make sense to book a tour in the rainy season? It looks like some or the areas will be cut off (Salar de Coipasa). Maybe it makes more sense to skip it and stay one -two days more on the Chilean side and get...

Hi everyone,

I am planning a trip to Bolivia in a few months but I am not sure about the general political situation. I know that there have been some riots recently and people got killed. lately I hear the situation has been more stable but the uneasy feeling still remains. On the other hand the danger in such circumstances is often exaggerated...

So, does anybody have a first hand recent experience travelling to Bolivia? Is tourism affected by the events and is it safe to...
