Its location on the slopes of the Sica Sica and the Churuquella mountain, make the museum a mild and quiet place. Among others, it houses a thousand year old cedar, probably the oldest in whole Bolivia.
Its twelve halls contain paintings of the 15th, 16th and 18th century, sculptures, religious opuses, a great collection of colonial and republic art, as well as the stall that is a true artistic opus.
